It's Gonna Be a Scorcher!
Hey Typhoons Parents!
Looking forward to another awesome meet this evening! A couple of notes:
Just like last week, plan on arriving between 4:30-4:45 so the kids can get in the pool for warmups at 5pm!
Lauren Kaiser (our normal volunteer coordinator) is out this week, so look for myself or Wendy Sielaty near the sign-in table to check-in so we know you are here and ready to volunteer. If you're not sure if you are signed up for a position or not, you can check the website or check with Wendy or myself and we will let you know. We still have one timer position open per Wendy's note last night, so hopefully we can get that filled and have a super smooth meet!
Parents, especially those of the younger kids... please help where you can in making sure your kids get to the check-in area in the back right corner of the pool. Our clerks of course and kid pushers generally are pretty busy, so if they don't have to hunt down swimmers all over the pool deck, that makes things a lot easier. Our announcer lets everyone know when the different groups should be gathering at check-in, but even if you miss that announcement, a good rule-of-thumb is if you see the bigger kids swimming both ways in the pool, that's a good indicator that the 6&unders and 7/8 will be next. Also, remember to check to make sure that all of your swims are finished before you leave, so you don't miss a freestyle relay. If you do need to leave early, make sure you let a coach know so that they can adjust the relays accordingly.
Finally, it's gonna be hot tonight. I've seen three digits on the weather app, so it is important that everybody hydrate throughout the day. I have a feeling that Kona Ice is going to be much more popular than it was last week!
Thanks for all that everybody does as parents and volunteers! There's no way we could put this altogether without all of you!
Brian
