Hey Typhoon Parents!

Our annual Green & White Intrasquad meet is just five days away on Tuesday, June 2nd. This mock meet will serve as a practice run for parents, volunteers, coaches, and, of course, the kids. We want to see how ready we are for our first swim meet on June 9th against Hedingham.

Everyone will need to be at the pool no later than 5:30 pm for swimmer check-in and warmups. The meet will begin at 6:00 pm and should last approximately 1.5 hours. Meet Objectives

• Swimmers will swim each stroke: Free, Back, Breast, and Fly (6&Unders do not swim fly)

• We will assess all swimmers for times and determine if their strokes are legal.
• Swimmers will learn the staging process for their event, how to line up behind their lanes, what the instructions mean that are given by the Meet Starter (i.e. swimmers on the block, swimmers take your mark, etc...), know when to dive/jump in at the sound of the starter's horn, and experience what it's like to race.
• Parents will learn and understand the meet process and the HOA safety protocols that we must adhere to.
• Volunteers will gain a better understanding of their volunteer position(s).

Volunteers

There will be a volunteer information session tonight at practice, starting at 6:45, for anyone who is new to the team or if you need a refresher! More information can also be found in the email sent on this past Tuesday.
